Michelle Obama

On My Journey

Just like many other women, I followed the "path to success," or what I believed would lead me to the success so many of us so desperately crave. All my life, I played by the rules and I did what was expected of me. And for a moment, I was happy, I thought I had it all figured out, and it seemed as though I was checking every box on this imaginary "How To Be Successful" list and living my best life, as they say.

I went to college

Fell in love

Studied abroad

Graduated and got a job in Corporate America

Got engaged

Had the beautiful wedding most people dream about

Traveled the world consistently...and the list goes on.

I guess, I was "successful" on paper and I must've appeared to have it all.

First, I want you to know that creating a life and business that is thriving and making a difference is possible. You owe it to yourself and the world. To all the people you will help and all the lives you will change. You need to live up to your highest potential, and I made it my mission to support you and show you how.

Undoubtedly, I've experienced many highs and PEAK moments over the past two years -- from marrying the amazing man I call husband, nurturing my love for travel and making my first "big girl purchase" when I bought my first car, to starting a new job and finally breaking away from the corporate world I dreaded going to daily. Those were the highlights and things that made pretty pictures, bomb IG captions, and well-liked Facebook posts. That's what everyone, from the outside looking in, got to see.

What no one saw behind the scenes, was in the drafts section waiting for me to gain the courage to press share:

  • A 25-27 year old woman going through growing pains and struggling to find herself and her purpose in life.

  • A newlywed who was unable to truly enjoy the high of being a newlywed and looked back at her wedding day with with both joy and sadness because that's when everything changed.

  • A woman reevaluating her circle and grieving the loss of broken friendships (no one talks about how devastating this really is).

  •  A wife being physically separated from her husband six months into marriage due to unexpected military obligations and her decision to stay so that she could feel like she was achieve her own goals.

  •  A woman living alone for the first time in her life who dreaded going home to an empty house each night.

WHEW! That woman was me, and honestly, after a while I didn't see her either. I no longer recognized myself. The stress from all of the change and life transitions that were happening all at once begin to take a drastic toll on me (mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, etc.). I began to struggle with anxiety and depression. I often felt like I was drowning and I couldn't breathe. I was at a point of going through the motions of life. I felt stuck. My energy and confidence were up and down (mostly down) all the time. I was wasn't being fulfilled. I wasn't showing up in the world how I wanted to be. I stopped doing things that made me happy, hell, I didn't even know what made me happy anymore. I was constantly trapped in a state of overwhelm. I wasn't using my God-given gifts and abilities. I wasn't making any strides to achieve my goals. I lacked boundaries and struggled to let go of mindsets, behaviors, and people who no longer supported or served the woman I wanted to be. I was a mess and the loneliest, unhappiest I'd ever been in my life.

Fast forward to today: I followed my soul path to become a mindset coach and created an online heart-centered business. I published my first book, launched a podcast and have been invited to speak on international stages sharing my message with thousands. I live the life I was meant to live and I have never been happier.
